Tell him he's dreamin', there can't be such a job.

Why don't you tell us how things should turn out for Eric in the comments section.
We are the champions my friend

Eric managed, after much pestering, to get his Mum to drive him to the games tournament. He teamed up with another guy, Nick, who had a few championships to his name in the past, and they ended up winning.

Eric is invited away to the big city, to be a professional games player.

Eric's Mum said no to taking him to the games tournament. It wasn't too long after that he got his license to drive. Unfortunately there were no more competitions within close range though, that was his big chance.

A couple of years have passed, time to graduate. Eric is the last to arrive and the first to leave. He writes in his blog later that night.

Well, that's that. One thing I'm glad of, I'll never have to see any of those jerks again.

The next day Eric packs a few belongings into a bomb car his uncle gave him and drives off to the city.

How does the story continue for Eric? Contribute your ideas in the comments section below. As Eric was the one that chose not to roll the dice (the 0 roll), do you think he could finish with a fortune in a dice based game like Sic Bo?

Choose Not To Roll

Life has many choices, and this includes choosing not too do something.

Not rolling the dice is Eric.

The circle of teenagers stands around, but Eric stands slightly aloof. He is not really interested in rolling the dice. “I don't really care for things I don't have any control over”. Eric is keen on computers, but he wants to decide what to focus on. Gaming or hardware.

When his Mum asks him what he will do with his future he gives her a few buzzwords. I'm going to work in IT, might have my own website. His Mum doesn't even know how to turn on a computer, so she doesn't question anything. His Dad, he's nowhere to be seen. He left the scene a long time ago.

Eric sits down and starts to play a game. After playing for three hours and shooting his way through a range of oppositions, he sits and thinks – I'm pretty good at this, maybe there's some kind of competition for it. He jumps online and finds out there's one coming up, just three weeks away.

His Mum comes in and asks “shouldn't you be doing your homework Eric”? “Oh yeah Mum, just doing some research for the next assignment. By the way, can you drive me somewhere in a few weeks?”

She isn't listening as she's walked out the door already. Eric spends the next few weeks pestering his mother to get a lift to the tournament. One day she says, "alright, I'll toss a coin to decide".
